    Why We Do This

There is a shortage of qualified string teachers to fill the needs of schools. We decided to help fill this need by creating the String Pedagogy Institute. Our goal is to help both the experienced and the novice teacher to successfully teach string orchestra through education.

    Who We Are

Three orchestra directors, Brian Coatney, Patrick Leaverton and Paul Sikes, started the String Pedagogy Institute as a way to meet the needs of school districts around the country. We love teaching string students and aim to share this joy with others.

    Our Summer Symposium

Our summer symposium is a hands on experience for  teachers who are seeking to improve their string and teaching pedagogy. Visit our symposium page for more information.
